My Natural Hair Journey By Sola
Sola of DiscoveringNatural.com, natural hair blogger, and Youtube content creator, shares with us her personal natural hair story, of going completely relaxer-free, her current natural hair style and haircare tips.
How did it all start?
When my oldest daughter was 4 years old, I relaxed her hair due to listening to bad advice about caring for her hair. I decided to transition her 2 years after that and during that time, I decided to transition myself. I have been relaxed since I was 13, so I was excited to take on this journey.
What is your hair texture and when did you begin to love it?
My hair texture is kinky, coily, curly. I have multiple textures by more on the coily side. I started loving my hair when I saw my natural hair growing underneath the relaxed ends. I was in love with all the amazing and magical things my hair can do.How did you begin rocking your current hair style & what hair trend are you currently loving?
I started off in medium size twists and wore that for a few days and then wore my hair in twist out. I don’t follow hair trends but I do like the braids with beads styles.
A few hair tips & tricks you’d like to share and what do you think about going natural?
Doing rope twists give you the best twistout. When you find a product that works for it, look for multiple ways of using it.
Going natural has been a wonderful life changing experience for me. It is not a fad or trend to me but a lifestyle.
